Description:

The 116 was the first high density DMU design for the Western Region Dieselisation Scheme. It got introduced in 1957 and served well into the 1990s. This particular model represents the first batch of 116s fresh from Derby C&W Works, in BR Green with the BR crest, white whiskers but no stripes.

Features:

  • Late 1950s / Early 1960s livery with newly created crest and whiskers
  • Working 4-lamp arrangement from the first batch (w emissive head/tail lights)
  • The trailer has first and second class (DBMS+TC+DMS)
  • New: 3-Car and Power Twin configuration – some sets where delivered as power twins.
