Realistic Specials
The mod makes changes to balance for a slightly more realistic usage of specials in game.
In fact, this is a variant of the development of ideas for use of specials from popular mod "5X – The Ultimate Balance Mod" (5.0.1) https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=800155077 , the settings from which are taken as a basis.
In my opinion, too many specials (as in the mods "Diverse Specials" series) overly complicates the gameplay.
List of changes:
1. Unlike the original game and UCP mod, planets can have one of 9 specials (or none).
2. Bonuses from specials are increased to raise their importance in the gameplay.
3. Now the priorities of AI during colonization take into account the different value of specials.
4. The probabilities of presence of specials on the planets are adjusted according to:
– Their biomes. For example, Seagrass on ocean planets are now 3 times more common than on terran planets. And Red fungus are more common on radiated planets.
– Size of the bonus. Gems give twice more bonus than gold, so they are less common in the galaxy. More precisely, because gems are less common than gold, they are more valued.
– Added probabilities of specials for uber planets – Grassland, Tropical, Cavernous and Inferno. To generate galaxies with uber planets, you need an appropriate mod, such as "Realistic Stars with 7 Planets" or its simpler version "Uber planets".
5. New icons, more diverse and, in my opinion, logical. Didn’t it seem strange why gold was marked with icon in the shape of a pentaprism?
