Description:

Nathan was an independent lumber supplier in Porogen. He offered exceptionally great prices on firewood in his neighborhood, and he was a well-respected member in his church. He lived outside of Porogen with his boyfriend, Marco. Nathan spent a lot of his time in the forest and Marco wasn’t privy to watching news channels, so neither of them were prepared for the riots and the war to begin. When they finally did, they were caught completely off-guard when their house was raided and almost all of their supplies were gone.

The two seeked help from the church, but were rejected aid because of their sexualities. Despite their best attempts to hide it, the church knew of Nathan and Marco’s "sodomistic relationship" and refused to help them in any way, leaving the two with very few options to survive the upcoming weeks. Nathan could chop more firewood for them, but where would they get food, water, and medical supplies?

As time went on and the two scraped by, Nathan began to notice that Marco was somehow bringing home enough supplies every day to just get them by. He found it unusual that he as somehow finding supplies despite the facts that the supermarkets were getting completely raided by the rest of the community. Marco admitted that the supplies were from the supermarket, but where he obtained them was not the original location. Marco had apparently been spending his nights looting the neighbors’ houses in order to get enough supplies to keep them alive.

Nathan was infuriated when he learned this. He told Marco that it was wrong to steal, but Marco rebutted that they had to or they would die. As the argument got worse, Marco became enraged and attempted to kill Nathan with his chopping axe. After avoiding Marco for hours, Nathan managed to get ahold of one of their guns and kill Marco. Despite the fact that Marco was attempting to kill him, Nathan grieved the loss of his boyfriend and immediately threw up when he realized that he had killed someone.

He couldn’t stay in his house after that. Grabbing his axe and enough supplies to last him a few days, he made his way to the opposite side of the outskirts of Porogen, where he found a house with survivors who were willing to take him in. Nathan hopes that the war will end soon so that he can go back and give Marco a proper burial and pay his respects to his now-dead boyfriend.
