THIS IS A MUTATOR!!! THIS WILL WORK ON ANY MELEE WEAPON!!!

Update Log + Fixed a bug causing major conflicts with all vehicles.

Mod Overview

This mutator automatically deflects incoming projectiles when you’re holding a melee weapon. Best part? This works with bots too! Perfect for Star Wars jedi-style blaster deflections, katana bullet parries like in The Matrix, or any other creative setups you have in mind.

Deflected projectiles can kill enemies and will credit you with the kill. You can loosely aim them by keeping enemies at the center of your screen, though there’s some randomness in spread and direction. Each deflection plays a unique parry animation. To keep things balanced, a cooldown prevents constant blocking. Note: Explosive projectiles still cause splash damage—deflecting them won’t always keep you safe.

Configuration Guide
  • Think of the balance system like "overheating": Projectile Deflect Limit is how many projectiles you can deflect during the Deflect Duration. Stay under the limit to reset; go over it, and deflection is disabled during Cooldown.
  • Parry Hold Duration controls how long each parry animation lasts. This is visual only and doesn’t affect functionality.
  • Max Parry Spread sets how far the weapon moves and affects spread. Max Parry Angle adjusts how much it rotates and affects projectile direction.
  • Enable for All Weapons allows any melee weapon to deflect. Use Blacklist Weapons to block certain ones or Whitelist Weapons to allow specific ones. Use weapon names or tags separated by semicolons (e.g., RESISTANCE SWORD;SABRE).

Author’s Note

Currently, this mutator blocks all incoming projectiles from any direction. In the future, I plan to add directional blocking, sound/visual effects, and cooldown indicators. Consider supporting me if you’d like to see these features added!
