Map Summary

Attack or defend the FNS Steel Talon in a fierce combined-arms assault within the ship’s interior. Battle within the tight lower level or land atop the flight deck and skirmish throughout the ship’s guts all in an attempt to secure the iron behemoth.

Level Description

This medium-sized map focuses primarily on infantry combat with vehicles acting in transport and support roles. Depending on the team this map allows for the defense or offense of an amphibious assault carrier. The ship’s interior is packed with cover, breaking up sightlines to deliver a brutal close-quarters combat experience. This map is heavily inspired by the map Iron Gator from Battlefield 2 Spec Ops and the Carrier from Battlefield 4’s Carrier Assault game mode. This map follows a typical conquest structure. Each team begins with two pre-captured control points, with 4 neutral points placed within the map. 5 of the control points are aboard the carrier which is where the majority of the action on the map will take place.

The Carrier is sectioned into 3 distinct zones; The bottom layer, which features the most dense close quarters experiences. The inner hanger, consisting of a large hanger that features close quarters and mid-range combat. And the Air-Deck, which features mid-range and long-range engagements.

The map makes use of small destructible elements such as cardboard boxes to enhance the fighting and make for a more dynamic environment. The command room features the densest cluster of destructible objects.

The night version of the map supports sight with or without night vision so that you can approach combat how you see fit.

The map cannot be played in all game modes. I recommend playing Battle Mode or Point Match. This is due to all objectives being within a closed ship and essentially stacked atop each other, causing difficulties for AI placement in other modes.

Recommended Map Setup

[Normal] Bot Count: 64 – Battle Mode – Respawn Timer: 10 seconds

[Conquest Assault] Bot Count: 64 – Battle Mode – Respawn Timer: 10 seconds – Team Balance: slightly favor red – Flag Layout: Blue starts with all neutral objectives

Map Story

After the successful assault on the port city of Bashuur the amphibious assault carrier the FNS Steel Talon unloads its armaments and troops shoreside and heads for resupply at the mouth of the Tayir Gulf.
Raven special forces have received impeccable intelligence allowing them to know where and when to strike the iron behemoth left with only a skeleton crew.
The Eagles left aboard must act fast to secure their vessel and force the Ravens out.

While I have an absolute blast making maps for Ravenfield I have numerous commitments coming up, most likely I will not be making any maps for a fair bit of time.
