The Forge of Annihilation
Long, long ago, when the world was young and covered in volcanic jungles, the first race rose to conquer the previous first race, the new race: the Chicken-Men of Kazdamor-Guliamonor and Gogshbrabgador-Nur. Weird were their cities in more than just name. Mighty and terrible were they to behold for on their faces they had beaks and their hands were like the hands of chickens, i.e. wings.
Then came Zognoru and Shulg by the Ulshdug. And many were the dinosaurs and dragons that fell by their dread talons, for they had developed laser weapons and flying cars, and the reptiles had of these things none. Therefore the cruel Chicken-Men came to build great cities, abodes of darkness and debauchery, for those monstrous avianoids were capable of great decadence.
In time, the sewer networks that these cities required grew and spread, and much of that which is below was full of their nightmarish waste-management constructions, yay, their abominable sanitation tunnels reached deep, deep into the underworld. And I will not go into much detail as to why their hellish cities needed such vast sewer systems except to say that what they were doing was wrong and they were not doing it the right way!
And know this, acolyte, these primordial bird-lords were known to the lesser races as the Zooglorians.
The remote jungle village of Hammer-Crag had never experienced the relentless onslaught of ravening death…until now. The Magu-Eldronians of the Council convened and deliberated, and in their wisdom, they sought to higher a group of thuggish mercenaries. Their purpose: to find and raze an accursed forge said to be hidden somewhere in the steaming jungles, the source of the unspeakable power of evil. Only with the destruction of the forge can the goodly folk of Hammer-Crag hope to survive the reemergence of the Bird-Lords of Zoog.
