30th of June, 1985. For the last six days, our pre-emptive offensive has been raging across Norway and rest of europe. The sinking of US carrier group four days ago by a Kirov-battlegroup ensured that our combined amphibious and air landing on Narvik went as planned. Norway along with it’s military is now cut in half.
While the 51st Motorized Rifle Division advances down from the border, eliminating pockets of norwegian resistance along the way, the 6th Air Army is mobilizing it’s reserves; The battle for dominance in the skies has been brutal, and some of the units such as the 147th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment has been entirely reduced to using old MiG-21’s brought out from storage. The losses are severe for our enemies as well, GRU reports new squadrons being rushed to Bodo airbase.
To maintain pressure and to capitalize on the success at Narvik, the High Command is deploying 941st IAP from Murmansk to the front along with a new squardron flying the newest fighter aircraft of the Soviet Union; MiG-29A.
Achieve air superiority or focus on carving a path through NATO submarine-infested waters to your destination, whatever doctrine you choose, all that matters is that you deliver that convoy.
