Dynastic Scaling Debuff
This mod introduces a scaling debuff that is automatically applied to prestigious dynasties as their number of living members increases. It is intended to help prevent large dynasties—such as the Karlings, the Abbasids (in the 867 start, particularly with administrative game rule), and many Indian rulers—from becoming overly dominant as the game progresses, especially compared to smaller AI dynasties.
The effect activates for dynasties with a prestige level of 6 or higher (Significant). Once a dynasty reaches 35 living members, a dynasty-wide modifier is applied. The debuff scales linearly with the number of living members above 25, up to a cap at 50 members (Total of 25 stack).
Each stack of modifier applies the following penalties:
-Fertility: −2% (scaled)
-General opinion: −1 (scaled)
-Dynasty opinion: −1 (scaled)
-House opinion: -1 (scaled)
-Monthly influence: −3% (scaled)
The modifier is checked and recalculated every time a child is born to that dynasty and every time a character of that dynasty died. The check only looks for character with dynasties with splendor level 6 or more for birth, and dynasties with the active debuff for death. The modifier is automatically removed when the dynasty member fall at 25 or below. This affect both Player and AI dynasties.
The mod should be compatible with anything, as it only adds and does not overwrite. Suggestions to improve the mod towards the intended purpose above is welcomed. Suggestions for improving the code—whether for performance or overall quality—would be greatly appreciated.
