Partycrashers
NOVEMBER 1, 1988
Greetings! I hope the Olympics in Seoul were enjoyable.
Unfortunately, we’re going to have to cut short the festivities as we’ve just received a distress call from a civilian airliner travelling from Seoul and Seattle; from what we were able to pick up before communications were cut off, several unknown fighters appear to have intercepted the aircraft mid-flight and are now in the process of redirecting them back towards Soviet or North Korean airspace. Why this is happening, we can’t tell—but suffice it to say, these actions are unacceptable and must be stopped!
The USS Nimtz has the closest fighters to the aircraft’s last known position and has therefore been authorized to scramble its Tomcats to action before it’s too late. Get some planes into the skies as soon as you can—countless lives are now depending on you!
MISSION OBJECTIVES
1. Locate Flight 155
2. Eliminate the enemy fighters redirecting the aircraft to Soviet/North Korean territory
3. Ensure that Flight 155 returns to friendly airspace
ASSETS
– The USS Nimtz and its escorts
– Carrier Air Wing 9
ENEMY FORCES
– At least four Mig-21bis fighters, nation of origin unknown as of this time
IMPORTANT INTEL
– Soviet fighters are believed to be conducting exercises northeast of Vladivostok; do not engage unless you
believe they may pose a direct threat to Flight 155
– Other civilian flights and ships may be present within the AO; watch your fire
– Radar installations in South Korea and Japan will be present
Good luck!
