Description:
Better Veterency System

The current implementation of the veterancy levels is very superficial. The core issue is that all countries reach unit level 5 at roughly the same pace, which cancels out the bonuses.
With this mod, more depth is introduced. The required experience now increases significantly between levels, meaning that from around level 3 onward, passive experience gain has little effect and practical war experience becomes the decisive factor. The sources of experience income have been adjusted. The military assistance “hack” to endlessly stack experience gain multipliers has been nerfed.

An army that frequently wages wars is now significantly stronger than a freshly built one.

Veterency-Levels
  • The first Veteran Level applies penalties, as the unit is not yet properly trained.
  • The second Veteran Level has neither penalties nor bonuses. In modern countries at game start, passive training to reach this level takes about 1 year.
  • From the third Veteran Level onward, the required experience increases significantly, reducing the effect of passive experience gain and emphasizing combat participation.
  • Level 5 is practically unreachable through passive experience alone. Without unit upgrades (which reduce the level by 1), it would take about 70 years to reach Level 5 at a weekly gain of 5 experience points.
  • The final level, however, grants significant advantages: +50% Offense/Defense and +20% Kill Rate/Recovery Rate.

New Character Trait: "Warmonger"
  • Increases daily experience gain by +1 point and overall experience gain by +25%.
  • The Prussian King and his heir always start with this trait.

Reduction of Experience Gain Multipliers
  • Providing military aid no longer increases the donor country’s experience gain.
  • Instead of +25%, the recipient country’s experience gain is increased by +50%.
  • The "Professional Army" law now increases experience gain by only +25% (down from +100%).
  • The "Mass Conscription" law increases experience gain by +10%.
  • Interest Group Armed Forces traits that improve/weaken units now also affect experience gain.
  • Power Bloc Principle "AGGRESSIVE COORDINATION" increases experience gain.
  • High Military Wages increase / Low Military Wages decrease experience gain.

Army GUI
  • A progress bar for each unit’s current Veteran Level is now visible.

Languges
  • German
  • English

Technical Limitations
  • There are no triggers for unit/formation experience and no effects to add experience, making some ideas unfeasible. For example: an "Average Professionalism" value representing the mean experience of all units within an army.
  • Barracks Production Methods cannot apply unit modifiers, so experience gain is tied to technology.
  • Mobilization Options cannot be automatically disabled (neither through triggers nor effects) when a unit is mobilized. Because of this, training options for armies could not be implemented.
