Description:
This is the English version of my units pack that is originally in Chinese. It doesn’t require other items to launch

Introcudtion

My mod adds eight units which are based on legendary troops mentioned/recorded in various Chinese historical texts such as Records of the Three Kingdoms and the phenomenally famous novel the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. For no matter what reasons, CA hasn’t included these legendary units in current version of the game.

By holding a combination of different abilities belonged to the generals (for example, Lu Bu’s "gaze of the dragon"), the units I added are extremely powerful. They’re something in-between an ordinary unit and a general (even the legendary ones). They’re supposed to be late-game units that can only be recruited once your prestige has reached “emperor”.

Historical accuracy

I need to claim that units from this mod have less to do with a historical accuracy. Yes, there’re legendary troop names borrowed from historical texts. But the units’ appearances and the ways they fight are based on my own preference in terms of gaming and aesthetic reasons.

Units Recruitment

These units are designed to be overpowered (not stupidly OP, but still OP in the campaign). This is one of the main reasons that I limited the numbers you can recruit them in the campaign. Here is a detailed list about the recruitment cap:

Unit Name & Recruitment Cap

Xianzheng Yin "Battalion of Camp Crushers" 2
Wudang Feijun "Unstoppable Flying Army" 2
Huwei "Tiger Guard" 1
Bai Er "Bai Er Warrior" 2
Jiefanwei "Jiefan Soldier" 1
Yulin "Feathered Forest" 1
Pili Che "Thunderclap Carriage" 2
Nvqi Jiagu "Female Riders" 1

Units skills

Other than regular ways like giving a unit more armor, attack power, increase the size, etc., I made my units OP mainly through adding skills/abilities that belonged to the generals. There’re two ways in my mod these added skills/abilities can be triggered. One is as same as the way how a general use his/her skill in the battle. Simply click the skill icon(bottom) to use. The other way seems a bit tricky because the nature of the skills might have changed when triggering them. For a quick example, Huwei holds Zhang Fei’s ability “blazing roar” which will be automatically kept releasing once Huwei starts to hit its enemy. In other words, this triggering mechanism changed the “blazing roar” hold by Huwei into a passive one. Of course, this made Huwei extremely powerful unless it encounters units have an “unbreakable” attribute. For more information about the skills/abilities hold by the units that can be triggered in the second way I mentioned, please figure out by yourself on the battlefield. Just check the status of the enemy you attack when using my units (in melee or in range), you’ll see what exact skill/ability they’ve triggered.

It is no need to worry about skill/ability changes to the base game. Nothing has been changed to the base game. All the skill/ability changes in order to suit my units are exclusive for the mod.

Unit Balance

I’ve already used multiple ways (including recruitment requirement and cap, give them limited ammo, and so on) to make an attempt to “balance” my units with OP skills. But I can hardly claim this mod has achieved a real balance in terms of the base game. If you’re a person has a serious concern of balance. Please ignore my mod.

Unit Notes

Can’t provide a detailed roster of the units in the description. Here are a few notes for them:

Pili Che "Thunderclap Carriage"
-No need of a water strategist to recruit; the flammable rock projectile is default.

Wudang Feijun "Unstoppable Flying Army"
-Massive damages to your enemy. Keep an eye on the friendly fire and your ammo.

Bai Er "Bai Er Warrior"
-Again, keep an eye on the friendly fire and your ammo

Huwei "Tiger Guard"
-Keep it away from arrows and bolts. It is a precious unit.

Xianzheng Yin "Battalion of Camp Crusher"
-Born to live on the front lines

Jiefanwei "Jiefan Soldier"
-High damage, but there’s a high chance they go “rampaged”

Nvqi Jiagu "Female Riders"
-High mobility, high ammo. Killer of crossbowmen.

Yulin "Feathered Forest"
-Have a lance, a shield, and a bow. : )

Lighting and Weather

Few weathers and lighting environments may make the units look a bit weird. The is due to CA’s setting. Even the original units in the base game appear weird under such weather and lighting conditions. I would personally expect some weather and lighting mods (like what we got in TWWH) in the future to change that.

Compatibility

This mod is made from a consideration of maximum compatibility. It should be compatible with almost everything. (Not sure about the large overhaul mods, you can try and let me know)

Uninstall

Save compatible. Like other unit mods, it adds things to your game, which means you can’t just disable the mod in mod manager and continue your savegame like nothing happened. Be cautious with your saves, particular ones on legendary difficulty.
