Oahu, island, Honolulu county, Hawaii, U.S. Oahu, is of volcanic origin, Oʻahu is the most populated and third-largest of the Hawaiian Islands.

In 1893 century the monarchy was increasingly dominated by foreign interests.
the Committee of Public Safety overthrew Queen Liliʻuokalani, the monarch of the Kingdom of Hawaiʻi, after she rejected the 1887 Bayonet Constitution. The Committee of Public Safety intended for Hawaii to be annexed by the United States.

Queen Liliuokalani was overthrown in 1893, and the island chain was annexed in 1898 by the United States. Now in year 1900 as a colonial territory of United States. The Tropical Island of Oahu
The leaders, such as Sanford B. Dole (Dole Fruit Co.) and Lorrin A. Thurston, were Hawaii-born descendants of American settlers who spoke the Hawaiian language but had strong financial, political, and family ties to the United States. They intended the Hawaii to become a territory of the United States. Hawaii was annexed under Republican President William McKinley on 12 August 1898, during the Spanish–American War. The Territory of Hawaii was formally established as part of the U.S. on June 14, 1900.
