Popov class coast-defence ship used by the Russian Empire
Novgorod was a monitor built for the Imperial Russian Navy in the 1875. It was one of the most unusual ships ever created for use in war because of its very unique circular shape, which allowed it to have much better armor and armament than other ships of its size, It was built alongside its sister ship, Vice Admiral Popov and served on the black sea untill early 1900’s.
