RMG Player Distance Definition.rpk
IMPORTANT NOTE: Your underground cities will still spawn right under a surface city; apparently the distance only calculates the cities on that plane.
Massive Maps and 12 players did not do what I really wanted, which is spacing out the distance between players. It makes the map huge, but everyone still spawns right on each other’s doorsteps and it also significantly increases initial world creation. Other mods to space out players were out of date, so I decided to just do it myself. The new map setting is called "Huge" because I could not figure out how to do custom text strings. It will appear below Very Large (Or Massive if you have it installed). This mod DOES NOT increase the player count, so you will still need Massive Maps for 12 players.
This will create your map faster than Massive, but it will still be slower than Very Large. Not enabling Umbral Abyss and/or using Blocked Underground will speed up initial world creation (disabling them would increase map generation of any size). I only tested it by loading several maps (with teams so I could have vision to see how far apart we are), so assumably, just like in base game, as well as in Massive, the late game will be miserable as always. Hopefully one day they will find a way to make multiple AI armies move at the same time on the world map to make it more bearable for those of us who like long games.
Also, if anyone knows which rpk to edit so that I can move that annoying Free City that spawns within 5 provinces of your capital further away as well so that my capital isn’t getting one of it’s direction curtailed out the gate, I’d really appreciate it.
