Wildfire, the Pyrotechnician
After nine years in development hell, hopefully it would have been worth the wait.
Wondering what happened to Pyro after Issue #7? Here it is; a feature complete character with a fresh coat of paint and up-to-date features and items to bring this monster back to the Constant where they belong as the rightful fire fighter (not to be confused for a firefighter).
"Wildfire" says it all: Chaotic, unpredictable, always a present threat. His playstyle fulfills similar roles of the mage-like pyromaniac when it comes to fire resourcefulness and control, but you’ll find her twisted ideals to be at odds; doing what you love makes you sane, but insanity can offer so much more.
Pyro gets up close and personal to wreak havoc and reap the rewards of a ridiculously high amount of crit mechanics, but such firepower can only be achieved through uncontrollable levels of madness, this fire hazard offers the best path to destruction for players who enjoy quick-swapping combos and rare high moments.
May you find yourself in delirium as you attempt to master this endless cycle of unrivaled arson and cruelty while your sanity constantly jumps in ecstasy.

🔥 Fights fire with fire
- +25% damage vs. burning targets
- Immune to fire damage
- Gains sanity near fires
- All fires are controlled fires
- Fuels fires 50% more efficiently
- Cooks foods twice as fast in a fire
- Takes longer to overheat and takes less damage from it
- Has 20% inherent waterproofness and drying rate from their suit
🔥 Is an excellent mercenary
- The pyrotechnician has mastered the art of Welding:
– Knows how to craft Gunpowder and Scrap
– Can repair all their personal weapons with Gunpowder
– All primaries can be used to repair tools and armor (Blow Torch)
– Amount repaired doubles if you have Scrap, consuming the item
– Durability cost per repair is also decreased if Scrap was used
– Cannot repair magic/shadow/lunar/fueled items - Pyro’s weapons and fires apply Afterburn:
– Afterburn scales off of sanity, the lower it is, the higher the bonus
– Fire deals ~1-4 damage per tick
– Lasts ~10-30 seconds
– Duration is refreshed when re-applied - Healing above your maximum health gets converted to Overheal:
– Overheal can reach up to 260 maximum health
– It loses 1 health every second until it returns to 175
– It functions exactly like normal health - Attacks have a chance to critically strike with Random Crits:
– Crits can apply on top of the burning multiplier
– Crits deal +35% damage while at full sanity and +100% at 0 sanity
– Pyro’s weapons always deal max crit damage regardless
– Critical chance starts at 15% for melee and 2% for ranged weapons
– Damage dealt recently gets added to a Crit Bucket
– Crit Bucket increases chances by 45% / 10% respectively (60/12 total)
– Percentage of damage converted is based on sanity: 100% of damage at 0 sanity
– Bucket has a storage limit of 800 damage
– Bucket drains 1/5 of its current contents every second - Opening gifts from Klei’s Drop system grants you Gaben’s Blessings:
– 25% chance to find Scrap upon opening gifts
– Failing to find Scrap increases its chance by 15%
– There’s an extra 2% chance for any tool or weapon to drop instead
– And an extra spicy 1% chance for any hat or vest in the game
– Chances reset upon dropping Scrap
🔥 Has a screw loose
- Cannot speak, but they sure try
- Gains and loses 25% more sanity from all sources
- Will start fires when below 30 sanity
- Rain and wetness disables bonus burning damage
- Loses sanity while wet, amount based on wetness
- More susceptible to freezing, takes more damage from freezing

Blow Torch
Scrap 3x – Slurtle Slime 6x
● Provides light, can start fires, cook food, repair tools and weapons
● 17 Damage, Lasts 10 minutes
● Refuelable with Nitre, Light Bulbs, Fireflies, Slurtle Slime
+ On Hit: Ignites targets in an area
+ Alt-Fire: Extinguishes flames, each flame heals 3 Health
− Rain disables area of effect, fuel burns faster

Flare Gun
Scrap 2x – Crimson Feather – Gunpowder 4x
● 34 Damage, Ranged weapon
● 16 Uses, repaired with Gunpowder
+ Crits burning targets for 85 damage
− No random critical hits

Fire Axe
Scrap – Twigs
● 34 damage
● 100 uses (200 as axe), repaired with Gunpowder
+ Grants 10 seconds of fire immunity on wearer
+ Anyone can use

Axtinguisher
Scrap 2x – Nitre 2x – Ashes 4x
● 42.5 damage
● 150 uses (200 as axe), repaired with Gunpowder
+ Crits burning targets for 106 damage and extinguishes them
+ Killing blows on burning targets grant 20% speed for 5 seconds
− No random critical hits
