Feature 1; Direct Control ‘Cobra’ Button

Do you like flying? Do you feel like your aircraft is on rails? Are you tired of having your aircraft’s manoeuvring fail you when you need it the most? Introducing the Advanced Direct Control System! This mod allows you to take full control of your aircraft’s control surfaces with a push of a button! B*tch slap your aircraft sideways and get that kill you so desperately want!

All jokes aside, the way i went around doing this is quite… Interesting? Instead of manually changing the flight characteristics of every aircraft, for all modded aircraft, I naturally opted to use scripts, however modifying the flight characteristics if the aircraft at runtime is difficult to say the least, so i was practically forced to use ‘setVelocityModelSpace’, ‘addForce’ and ‘addTorque’. When direct control is active (shown by a watermark in the bottom right) It takes the player’s pitch inputs and multiplies them, outputting them into a force that turns and pushes the aircraft. When you pitch up fully, it adds a lot of torque to push the nose up, as well as a lot of force to push the whole aircraft down to make the high AOA maneuver more ‘visually convincing’. This does unfortunately mean that if you activate the cobra button at low altitude and speed, you’ll likely crash, so key-bind it to something easy to press in a hurry.

Feature 2; Vortex Ring State ‘VRS’ Mechanic

Are you a heli enjoyer or soil-loving enthusiast? Do you feel like the cool helicopter pilots have it easy, hovering miles away without a care in the world? Would you like some spice to your simple flight model without going full fidelity? Introducing Vortex Ring State, a nifty real-life mechanic that causes potentially lethal crashes if the helicopter’s attitude is not properly managed at slow speeds… Go negative collective at low speeds? VRS has you covered with its rotor stall guarantee that is perfectly designed to make the pilot absolutely sh*t his pants…

Funny paragraph over, VRS is a real life mechanic that is quite complex, if you have no idea what it is, I hate to be that guy but literally google it or have it disabled. In short, VRS is a phenomenon that causes helicopters descending at slow speeds to get caught up in their own downward vortex, causing catastrophic loss of lift. Recovering from this requires the pilot to escape the vortex, either by gaining momentum, usually by pitching the nose down while lowering the collective to avoid exasperating the vortex.
