Véhicule Blindé de Combat d’Infanterie (VBCI)
The Véhicule Blindé de Combat d’Infanterie or VBCI is France’s modern 8×8 infantry fighting vehicle, developed to replace the aging AMX-10P. Entering service in 2008, the VBCI was designed for high mobility, modular protection, and troop transport in both conventional and asymmetric warfare. Armed with a 25 mm autocannon and a 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun, the vehicle provides effective fire support for infantry while maintaining strong defensive capabilities.
Serving with the French Army, the VBCI has seen operational use in overseas deployments, demonstrating its adaptability in environments ranging from deserts to dense urban terrain.
