Blood and Horrors – An overhaul for Cultist and Priest King
I’ve just had an instance of making a slightly off-beat class pack. After some deliberation, Demonologist has been moved to War In Heaven in order to maintain a thematic balance for that mod. That unfortunately means that Cultist gets the vast majority of content for this mod, so I shall revisit it when I can spare some time to suffer through playing – and brainstorming for – Priest King. I know Priest King has a lot of potential since it has FIVE ritpows, but Mesoamerican lore isn’t really my forte.
Cultist
- Expose the world to the horrors of H.P. Lovecraft with new thugs, a new SC, some nasty new chaff. A dozen units – and two commanders – overall.
- Cultists’ ritual roster has been significantly expanded. As usual, the majority of added rituals are for terraforming and economic purposes, but most of the new units are obtained via summoning or promotion rituals. As well, Cultist has been given easier late-game access to the void and the plane of water.
- Lawn Gnomes. That is all.
Priest King
- Priest King’s starting troop lineup improved, mostly in number. This should mitigate their early game difficulties.
- There is now a suite of rituals for developing a blood economy in the vein of everyone’s favorite Mesoamerican dictators. Additionally, a small suite of rituals has been added with the intent of increasing battle endurance for the fragile Mictlan troops, planar access, and the like.
There should not be any compatibility issues with any existing mods, but that hasn’t stopped problems from occurring with the rest of my lineup.
Currently, the only thing that is suspect is the sole event in the mod. Without examples or extensive testing, I can’t be sure that events will work 100% as intended.
Several sprites are currently placeholders because I work faster than Emperor Herb can make sprites.
I’m currently in the process of making overhauls for every single faction in CoE 5 and I plan to eventually port over the Warhammer Fantasy Battles mods for Dominions 4-5 over to CoE as new classes (a sizeable undertaking, only barely in the planning stages).
