Description:
Summary

If I’m to be entirely honest, I think I blew my load too early in terms of heavy use of Revelations back when I did Imperator et Barbarii. Oh well, I suppose you don’t need fancy writing if you are living through or causing the events of Revelations. Alas, recreating some of the really fun imagery can’t be done in CoE5.

Initially, the scope of this mod was to be fairly limited since Demonologist is strong when it doesn’t commit suddoku and already has a major recruitment mod. Meanwhile, Voice of El was in a bad position and deserved a bit of TLC. In the end, I just said screw it and made an effort to give the two factions relative parity, even if the content is a touch light compared to some of what I’ve done.

Feature List

Voice of El

  • VoE’s starting troops and recruitment lineup have been completely replaced. Additionally, half a dozen new units have been added and most stupid troops and commanders are now semistupid, meaning they can be controlled, but will still do their own thing if left to their own devices.
  • Holy troops for the holy class.
  • The Eccelesiarchy’s members now have much improved tools for levying troops and increasing the tithes to the Church.
  • Empire building and military rituals abound. You lot know the drill by now.
  • Get raptured. Invade Hell to make sure that those naughty in El’s eyes snuff it.

Demonologist

  • Demonologist no longer has standard human troops, but rather an Imp-based troop lineup. This includes the starting lineup. If these troops prove too difficult to get into summoning with, they may be expanded. However, I suspect this is not the case, as the imps provide good cost-value balance compared to standard troops.
  • Demonologist now has some tools for surviving inferno better and has the means to kick off a war between Inferno and the Celestial plane. Terraforming rituals may or may not be forthcoming.
  • Demonologist summoning rituals have been expanded with some more expensive rituals with significantly better chances of bolstering your numbers rather than ending your game.
  • Demonologist has empire-building options in Inferno, which provides a reason to risk the dangers of that plane.
  • Touch off a celestial war for funsies and fall back on plausible deniability.

Compatibility

There should not be any compatibility issues with any existing mods, but that hasn’t stopped problems from occurring with the rest of my lineup.

The only probable exception is Pascal’s demonologist mod, since I suspect both mods make use of clearrec for Demonologist. You can fix this by removing clearrec from either mine or his and adding modprio 4 to whichever one you didn’t remove clearrec from.

Suspected/Known Issues

Because of how ceremonies "work" settlement conversion might "revert" if the settlement is upgraded. Furthermore, it is impossible to have multiple powers on the Bishop or Inquisitor line of commanders, so they are always going to be untouched.

Shameless Plug

I’m currently in the process of making overhauls for every single faction in CoE 5 and I plan to eventually port over the Warhammer Fantasy Battles mods for Dominions 4-5 over to CoE as new classes (a sizeable undertaking, only barely in the planning stages).
