Winona Reimagined
After seeing her sister, Charlie, inside the portal on her boss’ office Winona decides to help her in an attempt to pull her out. Little did she know Charlie had other plans in mind for her and in one fell swoop Winona was dragged into the portal.
This mod introduces Winona from Don’t Starve Together with new abilities, items and an updated speech file to include quotes for Shipwrecked and Hamlet items and creatures!
Warning: This mod requires you have Reign of Giants installed and enabled in your world in order to play as Winona! The other DLCs are optional.
Compatible with Idle Animations, allowing Winona to have a new idle animation.
Compatible with a controller.
Incompatible with Vanilla Don’t Starve.
Incompatible with the "pre2023update" version.
Incompatible with other mods that introduce Winona.
Q1: Why is Winona so different from her Don’t Starve Together counterpart?
A1: I wanted to give Winona a complete overhaul to her abilities and items so that she feels like a genuine Don’t Starve character before she got a rework on Together
with her catapults and batteries, in other words I wanted her to be different from Together like how all characters in Don’t Starve are different from Together, but if you really
want to play as Winona just like she is on Together then I highly suggest you play with this mod.
Q2: Winona is locked, how do I unlock her?
A2: To unlock her you must travel to the Deciduous Forest, near Glommer’s Statue lies a unconscious Winona surrounded by wilted roses.
You’ll have to travel the world and find a briar bush, it can be found in a forest clearing.
Pick a rose off the bush and bring it to Winona, once you give it to her she will wake up and you will have unlocked her in the character menu.
She is found in the character roster between Webber and Walani.
You can also unlock her via the Configuration Options, in there is a cheat to permanently unlock her without needing to go through the above.
Q3: When making this mod, what kind of gameplay did you have in mind for Winona?
A3: In my eyes all characters in Don’t Starve have a specific purpose to their abilities, making the gameplay unique for each of them.
I wanted Winona to be THE ideal character for base building, allowing her to build fast as well as effectively take buildings apart making mega-basing with her fun!
Q4: Will you be porting other Together characters to Don’t Starve?
A4: At this moment there are no plans on porting over other Together characters to Don’t Starve.
