EMD SD70 Mega Pack (LEGACY)
(NOTE: THIS MODEL IS A LEGACY MODEL. IT WONT RECIEVE ANY UPDATES SINCE THERE ARE MORE SUPERIOR VERSIONS OUT THERE)
UPDATE 8/10/2021: Fixed some bugs with the lights, and other stuff.
Alright, the largest pack of mine is now out, with a large variety for your operating needs!
The EMD SD70 series was first introduced in 1992 with the first models being the SD70 (Standard cab) and the SD70M. These were made to compete against GE’s Dash 9 and AC44 locomotives being made during the same time. These locomotives featured the new HTCR trucks, and would total up to 2000 locomotives across various models in the 90’s. SD70’s are still around today with the creation of the SD70Ace since 2004, but are still are overshadowed by GE’s evolution service. Many of the older SD70 models, such as the SD70M, SD75M, SD70MAC and SD70 are still in service with most railroads, from Class I’s to shortlines. There also has been some rebuilt versions, such as SD70ACC’s which were exclusive to Norfolk Southern.
Even if their still in service, a majority of the early models are slowly phasing out due to economics, age, maintenance, and shortage of traffic, with many ending up in storage, bumped to light work or end up being sold to a leasing company or a scrapyard.
In this pack, it contains 7 of the SD70 models, those being the SD70, SD70M, SD70i, SD75i, SD75M, SD70ACC, and the SD70MAC, across 25 liveries, and 11 railroads, representing the SD70’s you would see from the 90’s to today. Even if they’re being phased out (NS or BNSF), they will not be phased out in Rolling Line, and they’re hot and ready to run!!
Also, no, I don’t have plans for an SD70Ace, so don’t ask.
