Mountain Pass Preserved
A conversion of the Mountain Pass route to depict it as a modern day heritage railway.
Services are operated by the Mountain Pass Railway Preservation Society (MPRPS) from their headquarters at Colnhurston to Litton, where there is a mainline connection to the south. A mainline operator operates a few trains a day to Litton, calling at King’s Waldecote, using a "bubble car". The MPRPS’ current fleet consists of a Class 117, a Cravens DMU, a Class 03, several suburban Mk1 carriages, and some utility wagons.
Changes: Main line reduced to single track
New speed signs and signals added
Line now ends at Colnhurston
Several station layouts altered
New stopping areas added
Speed limits changed along the preserved portion of the route
Some roads and buildings changed
Thumbnail is an edited version of my own photo of a Class 126 at Manuel on the Bo’ness and Kinneil Railway.
