Description:

Summary: This mod removes all random female generals EXCLUDING unique and historical characters such as Zheng Jiang, Sun Ren, Lu Zheng, Lady Feng(wife of Yuan Shao), wives one finds through ‘find a spouse’ interaction and daughters.

Detail:

When I played the game I came across too many random female generals and female faction leaders. Upon opening the database file, I discovered that the spawn rate of random female generals are 20% (x2 from Rome 2’s 10%).

I do not like seeing female generals leading an army and holding imperial offices in ancient China, so I created this mod.

This mod removes all random female generals EXCLUDING unique and historical characters such as Zheng Jiang, Sun Ren, Lu Zheng, Lady Feng(wife of Yuan Shao) and wives you found using ‘find a spouse’ and daughters.

I upped the spawn chance of random male generals so the number of random generals remain the same. Since many random male generals are named after their historical figures, this made the game feel more historical to me.

I did a small bugfix related with the mod as well: lady feng, Yuan Shao’s wife, is alone not set as unique among all historical characters. In a fear of her clones appearing I ticked her unique box to fix the issue.

Disclaimer:

For those of you who have issues with reduced female representations in my mod, I didn’t take time and efforts(I did this before assembly kit was out and I had to learn how to mod since nobody else wanted to do this) to create this mod so that I could be called out. I’m writing this disclaimer because everytime a topic of this nature comes up I end up hearing why I would care about historical accuracy in a game where a man can kill hundreds.

To me, a single dude killing hundreds is being truthful to Romance of the Three Kingdoms; these are exaggerations.

Random women, not a special few, leading armies and holding office positions during this period? Completely ahistorical, not an exaggeration. Women being imperial chancellor or faction leaders? Oh my.

I want to play the Romance version of the game based on ROTK and its many iterations, not a modern politically correct version of the game, and by no means I wanna force my view onto others(as many often do). It’s just what I want and I have my reasons other than being a bigot as many seem to believe to be the only conclusion they can think of. Doesn’t matter what they tell me; having female generals, Caucasians or black Chinese emperors (when it comes to that point) will always break an immersion for me.

People also have different preference and extent to which they suspend their disbeliefs for and which ahistorical settings and factors start breaking their immersions. Stop criticize others for their preference.
