Grey Skies = A Divided Planet

The year is 1964.
Tensions has never been higher than they are now. During the last world war, the Soviet’s fierce advance earned them a position dozens of kilometers deep; all while the Allied front remains silent and stagnant. The attempted "D-Day" assault was continously delayed with logistical issues and further deterrence, and by the time they were able to gain significant foothold in France, the Soviets had already long passed Berlin. Division now shakes the world as the Allies struggle to cope with their failure. The United States is desperately clinging on to its remaining occupation in Northern Japan, but international pressure is gradually forcing them out. The Eastern Bloc further dominates Europe and East Asia after numerous Allied failures.
The Germans lost, but at what cost?
The British, now facing imminent failure for the first time in decades, were caught up in the plans to redraw Europe. Furthermore, movements in Ulster and terrorist activity cost them Northern Ireland; a territory they had held since 1922.
In the Middle East, tensions are rising rapidly as the Arab Coalition is on the brink of a bloody standoff with Israel.
Tensions are also rising between Argentina and Britain over the century-long dispute in the Falklands. Argentina had been overthrown by a militarist junta the previous year, and the new government promised furious new changes to undo the "corrupt" previous government’s actions.
East Asia remains a communist utopia as the Allies struggle to gain influence in the region. America’s embarrassing failure in the Korean War has resulted in unrest and demand for reform.
Africa has also been heavily divided since decolonisation, many seperatist movements plaguing the political landscape as many insurgencies are destroying many African nations from the inside.
South East Asia was fortunate to survive the division, with nations like even Australia and New Zealand being successful in escaping the carnage ensuing across the world.
Europe remains a powderkeg, where one spark could ignite even a worldwide global conflict.
The landscape of the world remains tense. But will it all come down?
