Arma 3 Mission Briefing
Mission Title: Blade of the Tide

Faction: German Wehrmacht – 709th Static Infantry Division

Location: Ortira Peninsula, Utah Coast Defense Line

Time: June 6, 1944, Dawn

Commander,

You are Captain Erwin Schwarz, commander of the 3rd Coastal Defense Battalion. The months of waiting are about to end. We have received warnings from the High Command that an enemy invasion fleet looms on the horizon. An unprecedented storm is about to crash upon our shores.

Your company is tasked with defending "Utah" Beach and the critical artillery observation post and communication hub behind it. Your positions have been meticulously constructed, featuring fortified bunkers, intricate trench networks, and deadly interlocking fields of fire. However, the enemy holds overwhelming superiority in naval and air power. We face an unprecedented trial.

Your mission is clear and honorable:

Hold the Coastal Defense Line: Utilize your MG42 teams, anti-tank guns, and mortar squads to inflict devastating losses on the enemy as their landing craft hit the beach and their troops are most vulnerable. Let the seawater be stained red with their blood.

Destroy Armored Units: The enemy’s amphibious tanks are primary targets. Your Panzerfaust anti-tank teams must strike decisively, turning them into scrap metal before they breach the beach obstacles.

Hold the Inland Strongpoint: When the enemy breaches the beachhead through sheer numbers, your troops must fall back to the pre-established second line of defense—the village of "Wustrow". Here, you will use buildings and barricades to engage the enemy in brutal close-quarters combat, yielding not an inch of ground.

Call in the Final Counterattack: Once the time is right, Headquarters will authorize you to direct our valuable reserves—a platoon of Panzergrenadiers—to launch a decisive counter-attack against the weary enemy, driving them back into the sea.

The men are watching you, Captain. Their fate, and indeed the fate of the German Reich in this pivotal battle, now rests in your hands. The enemy believes they bring liberation. We will show them what a fortress of steel and will truly means.

Let these invaders learn what it means to face a true German soldier!

For the Reich and the Führer!
