Moscow Art Theatre
The Moscow Art Theatre named after M. Gorky, located on Tverskoy Boulevard, is one of the landmark examples of late Soviet modernist architecture.
Construction began in 1973 on the initiative of the USSR Ministry of Culture, and the first performance took place in 1987.
The version featured in this mod is based on the 1967–1968 design by architects E. Bekritsky, V. Kubasov, A. Morgulis, and others. While the overall shape remained faithful to the original concept, the final design adopted elements of Scandinavian modernism, with facades clad in dark brick for a restrained yet monumental look.
Both the interior and exterior have survived to this day, representing a remarkable example of late-Soviet modernist theater architecture.
