Description:

The 17000 Series is an EMU operated by Tokyo Metro on the Tokyo Metro Yūrakuchō and Fuku-toshin Lines.

The newest generation of vehicles on the Yūrakuchō and Fuku-toshin Lines, the 17000 series features wider seats and higher cooling capacity to improve passenger comfort. In addition, every car now includes a space for wheelchairs, and there is a slight downward slope near the doors for greater accessibility. 180 cars in 6 10-car formations and 15 8-car formations were produced from 2020-2022, fully replacing the aging 7000 series. The type through-runs onto Tobu Tojo Line, Seibu Yūrakuchō Line, Seibu Ikebukuro Line, Tokyu Tōyoko Line, and Minatomirai Line.

Maximum design speed is used, operational speeds are 80km/h on the Yūrakuchō and Fuku-toshin Lines, 100km/h on the Tobu Tojo Line, 105km/h on the Seibu Lines, 110km/h on the Tokyu Tōyoko Line and Minatomirai Line.
Capacity is calculated using 200% crush as Tokyo Metro lines frequently reaches 200% (and above) during rush hour.
