The list of additions/changes compared to the original model are as follows:
Toms now have bones. This means rotatable toms and the ability to remove toms if desired. Overall, it allows for easier animating and more detail possible to animate.
New bump maps that give the cymbals a hammered look.
Cymbal colour has been made more realistic (less orange and more like actual cymbals).
Update 19 Jan 2019: Three new skins added:
– Skin 1 is the standard blue skin
– Skin 2 is red
– Skin 3 is black
– Skin 4 is white
The bones for the toms consist of three per tom:
-one for the section of the mount that connects to the bass drum
-the armature off of the first section
-and the tom itself
The phong settings on the drum kit are set up so that it looks decent from basically any angle, but if you want to achieve the reflective look on the cymbals (as shown in the previews), you can do that by going into the Element Viewer and adding "$phongfresnelranges" in the override materials. Play around with the values until it looks as desired, and keep in mind that you will most likely have to have different values for different camera angles.
Known issues:
-Because this was made from decompiling the original model, there are some issues with the vertex count
-If you want to copy animation data from the old drum kit model, you have to deselect the joint_bass_drum bone when you copy it over, as its root position is different between the two models.
