(EA32) Venezuelan Army Team Config
The Venezuelan Army (Ejército Bolivariano de Venezuela) is the largest branch of the country’s Armed Forces and traces its origins to the wars of independence led by Simón Bolívar in the early 19th century. Today, it plays a central role not only in national defense but also in the country’s political life.
Structurally, the Army is organized into regional commands, armored and mechanized brigades, infantry units, special forces, and air defense components. Its main equipment includes Russian-supplied systems such as T-72B1 tanks, BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles, and S-300 air defense systems, alongside older Western hardware acquired before relations with the United States deteriorated.
In recent years, the Venezuelan Army has been heavily involved in internal security, border control, and support for the government of Nicolás Maduro. Beyond traditional military tasks, it has also taken on administrative and economic roles, overseeing parts of the country’s infrastructure and industries.
Despite facing challenges such as limited resources, sanctions, and maintenance issues, the Army remains a key pillar of state power in Venezuela, with loyalty to the government reinforced through ideology and close ties with allies like Russia and Iran.
