Keisei 3100 Series / 京成3100形
The 3100 Series (3100形) is an EMU operated by Keisei Electric Railway on suburban/commuter services in Greater Tokyo.
Developed as a new general purpose vehicle for the Keisei network, the 3100 series is the newest in service type, having been introduced in 2019. Designed with the concept of "Inheriting tradition and creating new merit", the type features regenerative braking and automated speed control. It has a lightweight stainless steel body of 18 meters per car, which is the standard length for Keisei. The interior is bright and modern, the walls and ceilings are clear white and the flooring in brown. The seats are given an orange seat cover and blue for priority seats, they are arranged in standard long seating layout. As the type is designed to operate regular services to airports, some seats can be folded up to create a luggage storage space. To date 7 8-car sets totalling 56 cars have been produced, with many more expected in the future years. As of current, the 3100 series is primarily used for "Access Express" trains linking Tokyo’s two international airports with the city center, as well as each other. These services run via the Keisei Main Line, Narita Sky Access Line, Keisei Oshiage Line, Toei Asakusa Line, Keikyu Main Line and Keikyu Airport Line.
