Albert’s S-3B
Introduced in 1984, ten years after the S-3A, the ‘B’ variant substantially upgraded the aircraft’s radar and data systems. More importantly, it added capabilities that converted the fairly unimaginative sub-hunter into a versatile missile-truck.
The added loadouts include –
-Anti-Armor, with 6x CBU-100 Rockeye cluster bombs
-CAS, with 2x Zuni (Hydra 70) rocket pods
– Precision Strike, with 2x AGM-65E/F Maverick missiles
– AntiShip, with 2 × AGM-84D Harpoon missiles
-Strike, with 4 × Mark 82 dumb bombs, and 2 x 300 gallon wing tanks (which dump when empty or engaged)
