I should specify, this is simply a faction mod, nothing fancy to do with changing the game or mechanics. It was also loosely inspired by the book "sea of rust," hence why its the picture i used for this.
The Lucius TAC-AI was a project under development by the Galentian Military pre-collapse. It was named Lucius because scientists can be stuck up pricks, especially when it comes to naming AI’s and etc. The TAC stands for Tactical Asset Controler Artificial intelligence. It was developed with the goal of automating some of the most basic parts of the logistical system of the Galentian army and any of their allies armies. However, it was never completed. Left to decay in its own servers and cortex’s for a century or so and its now mutated well beyond its original perameters, capable of operating autonomously with an almost cult-like following having developed around itsself from the few galentian outposts and ships that had Lucius installed or linked to their ships mainframes.
It original development lab may no longer be operational, however it was installed on enough carriers that it still has an operational network, with each carrier updating each other’s version of the Lucius AI whenever they come within broadcasting range. Of course owing to the fact that each ship would have its own mutations of the AI, there were a few cyber-conflicts between several of the different ships AI variations. This resulted in what is called the Lucius-A-TAC-AI. This AI’s Current home is on the Galentian coast where the Nuclear power supercarrier GSS Martin is docked, with the Galentians there currently attempting to set up the necessary equipment to move a version of the AI onto the shore off of the carrier so that it can utilise the bases vast communication array to bypass the need for each ship of the New Galentian Navy to come within a certain distance so it can update the individual AI copies. Also each AI dispite forming a part of what will become the Lucius AI system, until suct a system is unified by a singular network operates with somewhat independence as they’re own entities and so whilst they are technically lucius each ship or vehicle with such installed upon them has they’re own names for the Lucius System.
Either way its a miricle that this pre-collapse project even survived, especially considering how the North American continent has moved on from the Galentian States days, having fractured and Balkanised. However one such part of this AI exists in a carrier that was grounded in the Gulf of Aden, perhaps you may be seeing it soon, hint hint.
