Opposing Force
This mod is a work in progress. I’ve uploaded it to let the community do some testing and share their thoughts.
I started working on this mod about a year ago.
Missions are found in game in…
Single player – Campaign – opposing force
At the start, you select an End-Game objective, either…
Play 1 round of each mode, in the order of your choosing. This completes the Campaign on selected map.
or
Play any round in any order, multiple times. At the end of each successful round the player has the option to declare victory and end the campaign on the selected map.
You begin by choosing 1 of five battle modes, your nation, the enemies nation, the weather and the direction to start from. The five modes include…
Enemy are spawned in, in defensive positions. Player must destroy all defensive emplacements. Reinforcements will periodically arrive while defensive emplacements remain intact. A viking horn will sound when enemy reinforcements are coming. Listen for the short horn toots as they count the remaining defensive emplacements. Destroy all enemy units to win.
Player has unlimited time to setup a defence. Player presses a reinforcement button to start battle.Player reinforcements are placed at the point where you click on the map during the setup phase. Survive the assault and destroy the attackers to win.
Both player and Enemy make a rush for the 3 flags on the map. Flags are interactive, they can be lowered or raised. In the lowered position flags can be switched from player to enemy and vice versa (Player = Blue : Enemy = Red), Hover the mouse over the flags and flag poles to interact with them (icon will change). Swap the 3 flags to blue and raise them up. Destroy the remaining enemy. Be warned, if the enemy reclaims a flag. They will get the incentive to call in more reinforcements.
Straight in, 30 seconds to prepare before enemy start para dropping in around the map. Vehicles roll in, more troops on foot looking for a fight. Destroy them all (I see a pattern emerging)
Survive 3 waves of enemy. Enemy comes straight at you full force.
Once you complete a battle, you are given the opportunity to scavenge the battle field and repair vehicles. When ready, you press the Reset Mode button. All your remaining units are moved to a new side of the map (player chooses new side each round). You then pick another battle mode and play again. Lots of random stuff going on. No two battles are the same.
All units are available to the player from the beginning. Each mode assigns the player a set amount of MP. Remaining MP carries over to the next round. Some modes will require the player to spend most of their MP at the beginning of a new Campaign (eg. Attack mode requires the player to have units on the map to calculate defences).
Extra Mp is then earned by destroying enemy units and vehicles.
PS,
Don’t forget to give it a thumbs up if you get some Joy out it. It’ll keep me motivated to work on it and add more maps.
