Description:

PLAY THIS ON "SINGLE MISSION" ONLY

CURRENT VERSION: Release 1.2

Invaders: Yugoslav Army (axis)
Defenders: Slovenia (allies)

Important notes:

-This mission is very hard, which is intentional, although I am not too sure about the JNA ticket count as the AI is so random that sometimes the Slovenians will hold back the JNA at the first phase and other times they will fall decently fast. I’ll increase or decrease it if enough people complain about it.

-Most of the testing was done as the JNA since they advance the mission forward. I am expecting lots of criticism for gameplay as the Slovenes and for the final phase (since i tested those the least) so again, don’t be afraid to share/rant about it.

– The ammo/refill spot for the plane is not marked on the 2D map, but it is at the two spotlights behind your spawn. Fly low and in-between them and you will refill/repair your weapons.

Tips for winning / dying less:

Yugoslavia:
-Phase 1: Just clear this phase A.S.A.P, the less losses we take here, the better.
-Phase 2: an infantry convoy is trailing right behind you on trucks, and most of the tanks will not respawn. Take out all their gun positions before they kill too many of both
-Phase 3: Same deal as before, but we also have some commandos going in from the northeast. You may want to see if they have anything useful around there…

Slovenia:
-Phase 1: Use the anti-tankers in the trees to destroy the tank before it dislodges our positions at the crossroad. You also might want to use mortar fire on any concentration of men particularly in the east, anything to grind their forces down as much as possible
-Phase 2: they will be advancing out in the open. Just kill those tanks, fast.
-Phase 3: you now have control of all airfield defenses. Use the respawn option to switch between them, and do what you can.

Possible Questions:

Q: How historically accurate is this?
A: Think of it as a hollywood-ized version of what I *think* happened around the airfield, based on many sources I read. Most notably, there were obviously not this many ATGMs around the area and the car barricades in the fields likely weren’t there, but these are the sort of “fun adjustments” that pretty much every historical game does to make it better to play (especially since this is, you know, the opening mission of my whole yugoslav war mod. Gotta start with a bang). There will be less of these fictional changes in missions after Slovenia, as they”ll cover battles with far more info on them

Q: Is this balanced for singleplayer/multiplayer/co-op?
A: It is designed around singleplayer (roughly balanced) and extremely small 4v4ish multiplayer matches as I don’t think this mod’s popularity is getting further than that. There are several spawns specifically for co-op (like the commando-sniper duo in the final phase), though I can’t test the balance of 4v4 because i no hav that many frend but i will take reports of any issues if you try it out.

Q: Do I need DLC for this?
A: Nope! Awesome, isn’t it?

Q: Why can’t I drive the cars?
A: Because they’re for the barricade, and are most likely locked by their owners. You should use the M-84 tanks to catch up to the battle. (since many spawns are farther ahead in the next phases)

Q: Holyyyyyy ♥♥♥♥ why I die so much!?
A: This is war, not Barbie dress-up time. Gotta use your wits to die less, soldier

(Jokes aside, do report any open areas that could use some cover. I may have missed some.)
