CMFV-12 “Knightshades” is a BMDF Marines expeditionary fighter squadron assigned to the amphibious assault ship BNS Annex. Operating the FS-20 Vortex, the unit provides offensive counter-air, close air support, and precision strike capabilities during maritime and amphibious operations. As the carrier group’s primary fixed-wing strike element, CMFV-12’s integration with amphibious and naval forces enables rapid projection of combat airpower during maritime operations and joint force entry, with a focus on flexibility, survivability, and a lethality worthy of its poisonous namesake.
