What started as a small update to the old Sadism mod has grown into a full blood-court playstyle: a curated torture gallery, a hidden Murder Tribunal, heirs deciding whether to inherit a legacy of cruelty, and a torture system that ties into dread, intrigue and court politics.

Inspired by Sadism’s idea of “more than one torture,” but now its own beast.

Requirements: Your ruler must be Sadistic or have the Torturer trait. Without that, the special decisions/interactions will not appear.
Status: Beta/alpha – core systems are in, more events and polish will follow. Expect updates; if you prefer fewer updates for long campaigns, use tagged versions from my personal GitHub GitHub link [github.com]

Core Fantasy

You are not just pressing “Torture” more.

You are:

• Curating a Gallery of Torment and staging public exhibitions as a political weapon.
• Leading a secret Murder Tribunal, training disciples and holding clandestine assemblies.
• Leaving a legacy of torment your heirs must either continue or bury.

Major Features

1. Drastic Measures – Unified Torture Menu

New interaction: Drastic Measures on prisoners.

One menu for many tortures:
• Blind or one-eye
• Amputate leg/arms
• Sterilize, castrate
• Expose to leprosy
• “Mind Break”, forced cannibalism
• Lay With (forced copulation, player-only)

A controlled wound system:
• “Light” and “heavy” tortures apply appropriate wounded traits instead of instantly killing victims.
• Vanilla “Torture” is gently overridden to match this and apply a consistent “Recently Tortured” feel.

2. Gallery of Torment – Public Spectacle

Decision: Manage Gallery of Torment

Open the Gallery manager:
• Queue up to three prisoners.
• Autofill empty slots from rivals or high-value captives.
• Start the show or close the Gallery, with reasons and cooldowns explained.

Queue system:
• Right-click: Queue for Gallery / Remove from Gallery Queue.
• Max 3 prisoners queued; unqueue someone or finish the show to add new faces.

Public Exhibition:
• Choose which queued prisoner to drag into the light.
• Per-victim torments: maim arms, take a leg, force them to eat carrion, or run a “generic” brutal torture.

Rules & consequences:
• You must torture at least one prisoner before you can end the show.

Ending the show:
• Applies a “Recent Showcase” modifier (5-month cooldown).
• Sends dread and opinion ripples:
– Powerful vassals: horrified
– Cruel minds: enthralled
– Others: uneasy but affected
• Cooldown ends when the modifier expires.

3. Murder Tribunal – Cult of Pain & Training

Interaction: Tribunal Initiation

On adult courtiers you host, while the Gallery is active.
Requires a Sadistic/Torturer ruler; AI cannot use it. ( Right click courtiers and in social actions there is the Initiation action. )

Outcomes:
• Disciple of Pain – loyal, cruel, better at intrigue.
• Broken lunatic – shattered but still devoted.

Behind-the-scenes training system:
Tribunal members quietly grow over time when they:
• Take part in your Gallery spectacles.
• Attend Tribunal Assemblies.

They can:
• Gain intrigue skill and lifestyle XP.
• Progress along the vanilla intrigue education chain.
• Earn the unique “Tribunal Mastermind” modifier at the top.

Activity: Murder Tribunal Assembly
Full CK3 activity with custom art and intent (“Dark Tutelage”).

Modes:
• Closed assembly – share methods and scars, focused on training.
• Sacrificial rite – risk a prisoner or lunatic disciple for bigger dread and deeper lessons.

Structured to actually start, progress and conclude cleanly.

4. Legacy of Torment – Death Matters

When a ruler who used the Gallery or Tribunal dies:

A custom on_death event notes them as the former ruler of the Tribunal and hands off to the primary heir.

One day after succession, the heir sees “Inheriting the Murder Tribunal”:

Continue the legacy:
• Keep the Tribunal; disciples gain a “Legacy Honored” opinion.

End the Tribunal:
• Lock it for this ruler; disciples lose status and feel “Legacy Betrayed”.

Your cruelty becomes a dynastic fork: your heirs must decide whether to carry the torch.

Relation to the Old “Sadism”

Origin:
Started from updating Sadism’s extra mutilations and traits.

Now:
• Uses its own requiem_* scripts instead of sitting directly on vanilla.
• Adds Gallery, Tribunal, Assemblies, legacy and training on top.
• Offers a full blood-court playstyle, not just extra torture buttons.

If all you want is “a few more tortures,” a simple Sadism port is lighter.
If you want tortures, spectacles, disciples, and dynastic choices woven together, this is built for that.

Compatibility

Designed to coexist with most mods (cultures, faiths, map, UI, flavor).
New content lives in its own files; vanilla torture content is extended, not blindly replaced.

May conflict with mods that:
• Completely rework torture and prisoner events (such as Sadism).
• Override the same core torture helpers or heavily rewrite prison_events.

If another mod says “total torture overhaul”, test it together with this one.

Languages

• English: full flavor and tuning.
• Russian: full localization for all Requiem-specific features (Gallery, Tribunal, Drastic Measures, opinions, modifiers).
Where base-game text is reused, the game falls back to vanilla Russian.

If you want a CK3 run where the dungeon is a stage, courtiers are either audience or disciples, and heirs must decide whether to inherit a legacy of torment, Blood Court: Torturer’s Requiem is made for that campaign.
