Description

The type III Chi Nu Medium tank was created as a stopgap solution as a response to the lack of firepower compared to the United State’s better armed and better protected armored vehicles such as the M4 Sherman late into the war. This was done by mounting the Type 3 75mm tank gun as seen with vehicles like the Ho-Ni series of tanks. Only 144-166 would be built but none would see combat however as the few that were built were reserved for the defense of the home islands. A proposal to mount the 75mm Type 5 cannon though it is unknown how many of these conversions were made.
