Description:

The vanilla furnace has two issues.

1 it do not have a working (haul) job that makes units automatically place looted weapons and armor inside them.
2. they create iron ore instead of iron plates what imho do not make sense.

This mod adds both a weapon furnace and armor furnace to the game in order to address these issues.

Not only do these two furnaces produce iron plates. They also are specified (instead of general) so a working haul job can assigned to them.

This means that if you have one unit with the haul job loot all the weapons after a fight he will store them inside the weapon furnace automatically.

You will have to turn on the furnace manually but the hauler will keep storing the specified equipment until none remains in his inventory. What imho greatly reduces the amount of micromanagement related to this feature.

Iron plates are however more profitable then ore. And without the ability to reduce the production (that I know off) the furnaces are a lot more profitable. As a result have I substantially increased its production cost compared to the standard furnace.

FAQ:

Can I only place armor in the armor furnace?
No, you can place all types of items but the haul job related to the buildings only works for the specified item type.

Are there any changes to the regular furnace?
The regular furnace is unchanged and will continue to convert equipment into ore.

Why do these furnaces look the same as the regular one?
Because I’m lazy
