Snowballing Cost
Do you think the game is too easy? How you and everyone are swimming in gold 100 years in? That there is no point to trade, colonisation, conquest, or any of it to drive you on after you have enacted your medieval industrialisation 400 years before OTL?
This mod will delay that. Snowballing will happen regardless given enough time, but this should buy us enough engaging game time to at least the 1600s.
Changes made:
– Reduce base RGO size and scaling sized based on pop by 20-30%. This affect low-pop locations the most, high-pop locations above 50k shouldn’t feel the sting too bad.
– Increased building cost to +50% at -100% control. This leave minors unaffected but will kneecap large expansive nations like France who tend to snowball more.
– Towns receive +5% extra local control cap and cities +10% control cap to offset this severe penalty far from capital.
– Doubled the cost to build roads, and endgame railroad tier base price is now 10 times the price, industrial revolution is serious business.
– Expand RGO base price increased by 300%, from 50 to 150. (I don’t believe the building cost penalty affect RGO anyway, since they arent technically buildings.)
With tech reduction, traditions, reforms, privileges and countless other sources, it should be brought down to reasonable levels. This cost does not scale with ages in vanilla, so expanding RGO will be easier as you play through the eras when your eco grow, and parliament meetings RGO choices should help early in the game instead of being an instant skip now. I think that’s fair for what’s basically free resources given they have almost 0 input.
– Increased base price of all urban buildings by 50% on top of control penalty. This hits everyone, even minors. Your treasury will be empty often, even if it’s the 1500s.
– Winter 2x more devastating on food production, but towns and cities get double base storage capacity. 500 for towns and 1000 for cities. (made to be compatible with Better Agriculture mod by SplashCode)
– Founding towns now cost 1000 gold, and cities 3000 gold. Roughly 50% increase from vanilla. Metropolis Bohemia AI will be delayed by a good 100 years at least. Reduce urban spam across the world.
– Apply +1 building level limit per 20k pop from 1.0.8
