Controller Support
This mod provides partial support for controllers.
It will become obsolete when the game has official controller support.

– MacOSX (untested)
– Linux/SteamOS (untested)
– PS4/PS5 DualShock
– Xbox ONE
– Probably any controller but I only tested these. If you have a generic controller, you can use programs to translate the inputs to one of the above to make it compatible.
IMPORTANT:
THE CONTROLLER INPUT IS ONLY ACTIVE WHEN YOU ARE IN THE GAME WITH THE CHARACTER, NOT IN THE MAIN/PAUSE MENU!!! (might implement later on)
YOU CAN CHANGE THE SENSITIVITY IN THE OPTIONS, ITS THE BUILT IN SENSITIVITY
1. In the Steam Controller Settings, enable the "Steam Input Translation".
2. Select this layout: "Gamepad with Camera Controls" (probably you can find it in the "search" tab, just search for "camera").
3. If the game was running, restart it!
R1: Sprint
R2: Shoot / Grenade throw
L1: Aim (in building mode you can rotate the building with this)
L2: Simulates "Right click" in the UI, also can be used to cancel grenade throwing
Left stick: move
– Press the stick to toggle nightvision / thermal / any face mask functionality
Right stick: camera / direction or scroll in UI
– Press the stick to select bullets
– Use DPAD up/down to navigate, then press the right stick again to confirm selection
OPTIONS: Inventory/Storage
SHARE: Pause
X / A: dash, or in UI select an item
– R1 + this performs any action that requires hold (e.g., recycling building)
Triangle / Y: reload
Square / X: put away weapon OR interact with anything (such as picking up items)
Circle / B: close UI
R1 + X/A: drag & drop an item (hold down both)
DPAD LEFT / RIGHT: shortcut items 1–2 and V (melee)
DPAD UP / DOWN: UP AND DOWN action when you are in a selection, for e.g. trader
To access shortcuts 3–6:
– R1 + DPAD UP → 3
– R1 + DPAD RIGHT → 4
– R1 + DPAD DOWN → 5
– R1 + DPAD LEFT → 6
You cannot access shortcuts 7 and 8 at the moment.
If you have any issues, you can toggle the controller input via F5 and you can continue with keyboard and mouse
– Default keybinds are required. if you changed a keybind it won’t work properly. (might be fixed later on)
