Originally made for 1.0.5 and then deprecated but looks like it might be needed again as in 1.0.8 Paradox has raised the trade maintenance cost to 0.5 once more, making most trades unprofitable which in turn causes automatic trade AI to stop using all the trade capacity as it doesnt have enough profitable trades to make.

Original description:

Reduces the 10x trade maintenance increase in 1.0.5 down to 5x increase.

In 1.0.5 Paradox increased trade maintenance by 10x from 0.05 ducats per unit of trade capacity to 0.5 ducats per unit of trade capacity.
In theory this isn’t too big of a deal when you are trading things that have high base price and low transport cost but is terrible for trading things that have low base price and normal/high transport cost.

For example 1 unit of jewelry has a base price of 5 ducats and transport cost of 0.5. So with 1.0.5 changes trade maintenance is only 0.25 ducats per unit of jewelry, or in other words 5% of it’s value, which is fine.

But when trading something like Wheat with base price of 1 ducat and transport cost of 1 you are paying 0.5 ducats per unit of wheat as trade maintenance, which is 50% of the value, making it really difficult, to make a profit. At least in the early game.

I think the trade maintenance cost needs a complete overhaul from Paradox but in the meanwhile i’ve reduced the cost to 0.25 ducats per unit for now.

The patch just came out so i havent had time to test it much to see what a good balance for the trade maintenance would be, but it sure isnt 10x what it used to be!

Should be compatible with most other mods as it only changes 1 line in defines.

Compatible with save games and can be added/removed during a campaign.

Not compatible with achievements.
