Description:

Tiny mod that adds a new fishing port upgrade alongside the vanilla upgrades. Inspired by the mod "Food in Small Ports", by Jomar Reyes.

Fishing Village (cost = 650)
• +1 Food
• +100 Town wealth
• +2 Growth per turn

Fishing Hub (cost = 1450 — requires “Chonindo” civil art)
• +2 Food
• +250 Town wealth
• +5 Growth per turn

ROTS: Added +50 town wealth and removed the upgrade tech requirement for the fishing hub compared to the vanilla campaign (to match the ROTS campaign balance).

Why this mod?

I find that upgrading muliple ports in Shogun 2 often doesn’t give a good return on investment, especially if you don’t care about recruiting ships. These two tiny buildings are cheap and provide an economy-focused alternative to the usual military/trading ports. Also, historically speaking, I believe that fishing was quite a thing in Japan at the time, so it adds a little iMmErSiOn.

Balance considerations:

I tried to remain vanilla-friendly and avoid making anything overpowered. The Chonindo requirement might be a bit restrictive, and the flat town-wealth bonuses could feel a little underwhelming. Feedback is welcome if you have any!
