The Forest Court [Fey and Tree Spirit Class]
What is this about?
A new class themed around the Fair Folk – also known as Fey – and the Spirits of the Forest.
An original recruitment list and a ritual school filled with summons and other tools to conquer the world with the might of the Wildwoods. Gather tiny Fairies, magical beasts and wandering trees under your command, travel the world on secret paths and cast eternal winter on your enemies.
– about 60 new units (+ several variants), each with their own extensive lore, many sprites are taken from the Dominions series and were never seen in CoE before, a handful among them re-worked by me
– over 20 new rituals
– seasonal recruitment, during Winter when the Wild Hunt haunts the lands sacrifices are collected from human settlements and special recruitment offers become available
– use herbs to channel the powers of the wild, or follow darker paths and see what creatures the Fey once banished into the darkness
– recruitment is based on free-spawning Forest Spirits that need to be upgraded in Ancient Forests, wordly citadels offer high-priced human mercenaries to spend your gold on, Gnome Smiths will use your iron to create powerful elite soldiers
Class Lore
Since ancient times the Fair Folk existed in the sanctuary of the woods, powerful and immortal, joyful and callous, yet their spark is slowly dwindling. The old Wellsprings of life and magic have run dry and few remember how to awake them anymore. With each death the Fey are reborn, but now the rebirth takes evermore longer – centuries and millenia – and even with their timeless minds the disturbance becomes noticable. The Forest Court keeps curiously quiet about the matter, deferring to the four Sovereigns who assure that ‘all shall be well and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well’. If they do not act, who will?
Known Issues
– none anymore, all solved thanks to HSmasher’s advice
What else?
Like, comment and subscribe, I guess. Balance as always is an occult practice, the class seems to weak and too strong at the same time, so probably I did everything about right. Let me know if there are any issues, or what you especially liked so I might do more of it.
