Ann Arbor 4-6-0

Brief history of the Ann Arbor railroad and their 4-6-0s:
The Ann Arbor railroad was formed in 1895 and operated out of the Michigan state area, and also operated train ferries across lake Michigan. for many years the railroad was a subsidiary of the Wabash railroad until 1963 when the Wabash was absorbed into the Norfolk and western railroad, and later became a subsidiary of the Detroit Toledo and Ironton railroad (DT&I). both the DT&I and AA were both subsidiaries of the Pennsylvania railroad until it was merged with the NYC to form the Penn central railroad, which later went bankrupt in 1970. The Ann Arbor filed for bankruptcy in 1973 and officially ended service in 1976 when Conrail took over the line. in 1988, a short line was formed under the old Ann Arbor trackage and reused the Ann Arbor name. the railroad is still in operation to this day.
Some of the Ann Arbors first locomotives they got were 4-6-0s in 1899. the Ann Arbor purchased a total of 12 4-6-0s from 1898 to 1902, being labeled under the F class. the ten wheelers served for many years until 1930 when in the 1930s when many of the 4-6-0s would be sent to the scrap yard to be broken up. the last of the F class lasted until the 1950s, with reports of number 121, an F-1, being used as a boiler inside of the train ferries until 1960 when it was cut up, putting an end to the Ann Arbors steam fleet.
While nothing remains of any of these ten wheelers (or any steam for the Ann Arbor at all), this pack allows you to relive how michigan once moved!
