Spec Ops Configurations
I spent too much time in MS Paint drawing straight lines and circles for the last thumbnail. This time we are going with the minimalist/copy+paste approach.
This is a mod that modifies the Spec Ops mode. You can use none, some, or all of its features. The features apply ONLY when you are playing Spec Ops!
Self explanatory, multipliers that can modify your AI squadmates’ damage output, balance damage, weapon spread, and reload times.
This is a feature that will trigger when a bot in your squad takes damage. When triggered, the bot will temporarily become invulnerable, thereby preventing them from being damaged immediately again. You can configure this length to be any amount of seconds. Setting the length to 0 will essentially disable this feature. Setting the length to a negative number will make them permanently invulnerable. However, they may still be damaged by scripts.
This feature is for bots only! You, the player, have a brain (hopefully). Use it to avoid damage and be careful.
A straightforward feature that disables Hero Armor for your AI squad members, though the player will retain this protection, as getting killed in one shot is no fun at all.
Mostly made for HavenM users, as Hero Armor has been majorly buffed to the point of making bots invincible, so turning it off is the only way to add some stakes to their survival. However, you may also desire to enable this feature if you wish to balance out the damage cooldown feature.
If you are using the Bot Skill Tweaker Improved, it may be necessary to also disable Hero Armor in that mutator’s settings as well. Your teammates will always spawn at the Elite skill level, so disable Hero Armor for that particular skill level.
Note that Hero Armor protection still kicks in for bots if they receive a lethal dose of damage. It’s been found that in practice, having your teammates die in one shot to anything mounted on a vehicle is just no fun at all.
This setting was made mostly for creators of custom Spec Ops configs who want to ensure the player chooses the right team. It will force the player to choose a certain team to play as.
If this setting is enabled, then the next two features will be applied.
Only applied if Enforce Team Selection is enabled. Determines the "correct" team that should be selected. Will force the player to choose this team in the Instant Action menu when playing as Spec Ops. If the player chooses the other team, then they will die upon spawning in and be sent back to the main menu.
If the player chooses the wrong team as dictated by the Force Team setting, then this message will be displayed in the banner that appears upon being not just killed, but insta killed. May interfere with this mod.
A straightforward set of configurations that allow the player to configure a custom callsign for their squad. If indexing is enabled, then the callsigns will include numbers. For instance, setting the callsign as "TALON" and enabling indexing will make the player’s name "TALON 1", the next actor in their squad will get the name "TALON 2", and so on. Disabling indexing will remove the number.
It is also possible to configure a unique name for enemy bots, though for reasons currently unknown it will not apply for bots guarding objectives, only for the ones that are patrolling.
The Advisor and EYES may still refer to the player squad as TALON if playing Spec Ops as Eagle; this is most likely due to the relevant dialogue being hardcoded as such.
