Doc’s Gearheads – Support Units for Gladius
I am happy to present my Gearheads mod for Gladius, a collection of support units and/or traits for every faction. Here’s what I’ve got for you:
We’ve recruited a Sergeant Major…but not just any Sergeant Major. He’s a steely-eyed veteran of Cadia, and he’s just the leader we need to stiffen the resolve of those Guardsmen against all the monsters and heretics Gladius has to offer.
In other news, our Techpriests tuned our Void Shield Generators so that they don’t help the bad guys anymore.
Scuttling scarabs pour out of the ground, some to kill, but others to heal. The tombs generate Nanoscarabs in huge numbers to rush in among wounded Necrons and sacrifice themselves in a frenzy of rebuilding to heal their allies.
Stormtalon pilots are daring, brave, and highly skilled. When flying in formation with an allied aircraft, they use their skills to avoid fire and close with their targets.
Orks breed squigs for everything! “Dey’s good eating, good fightin’, and good for wearin’…”
Bonesingers arrive on Gladius to aid the Aeldari in reclaiming the world, using artisanship rather than weapons.
One of the most horrific creatures in the Galaxy, the Daemonhost disturbs reality around it, cracking the minds of foes and dominating lesser beings.
The Tyranid Hive Fleet is arriving, and it is time for those with the genetic curse to ascend. The Biophagus not only spreads the genes of the Patriarch, but also hastens the transformation of those infected.
The Siphon is a gruesome variant of the Talos, artificially created to be both torture chamber and provisioner of extracts for its master, the Haemonculus.
The Sisters of Battle recruit many capable allies with the influence of the Ecclesiarchy. They have Knights, pilots, and now Anointed Techpriests to assist them in their holy war on Gladius.
The Mechanicus is usually the picture of orthodoxy when it comes to the acquisition and sharing of technology. But some of their more eccentric members, the Magos Explorators, are so obsessed with the acquisition of new knowledge that they will go anywhere and do anything to gain more of it.
The T’au are open to all, including the League of Votann. The Demiurg has joined the cause to help the T’au improve efficiency in plasma technology and battlefield salvage. Waste not, want not!
The Marl of Lilaethan
A pinch of loam from an Aeldari Maiden World can bring bountiful harvests even to Gladius.
The Doomstone
The trapped soul of the first human fallen to Chaos…power, yes, but the whispers won’t leave your mind…
For those interested in modding, I’ve posted a companion guide which details some of my tribulations and discoveries along the path of making the mod. Please read it if you like backstory!

Clearly, any mistakes or errors are entirely my own. Please post feedback on any bugs you encounter, preferably with a description of the events surrounding the crash, and even a few words from the error message if possible.
I really, truly couldn’t have done this mod without a lot of help. Xazeru helped me at the very beginning to simply find the existing guides which got me started. When I quickly ran into walls, Devian was there on the message boards to assist with very specific, helpful advice to help me break the logjam, along with several others. Nimajneb was a key sounding board and playtester, and tried (and sometimes succeeded) in “breaking” my ideas by showing me exploits. I also owe a debt to Kabookie and Timmeh for the Neutral wildlife pack, which opened up a lot of possibilities for using truly new meshes. Thanks to Proxy for their cool game Zephon, which has opened up a lot of new mesh and animation possibilities (e.g. the Daemonhost).
