Vaettiheim
Adds a new faction – Vaettiheim – the wolfkin.
The Wolfkin are a nation of nomadic goblins. After years in hiding after a failed rebellion has left the old Jotun empire in rubble the Vaettir are beginning to emerge from their mountain hideouts to lay waste to the other races of Elysium, raiding and pillaging unprotected settlements to satiate their lust for blood and their masters lust for gold. The Vaetti are tougher and more survivable than their troll-loving brothers as years of surviving the harsh climate of the mountains made them innately resistant to cold and physical hardship. Vaetti Shamans can call forth the Illwinter enabling the recruitment of Jotun. Because of the small stature of the Vaetti goblins moving through snow is very difficult despite their experience with it but with a little help from other animals they have tamed over the years they can move swiftly through the snow and gain an advantage against most enemy forces.
Most Vaetti rituals are cast with iron, they dont use any special resources. The Vaettir are drawn to ruins and wolves, moose and other larger animals left in such locations will be mounted by them giving them more health, morale and sometimes unique abilities.
Gameplay wise the Vaettir play aggressively with cheap armies of expendable units, many of their rituals are summoning rituals or transform tiles into unit summoning tiles. Vaetti lategame isnt the most explosive but you are able to summon various high value units including Jotun and Frost Titans if you manage to leverage your earlygame advantage. My goal was to make the Vaetti feel vanilla-like with simple to understand features and pretty simple starting units (although their roster changes quite a lot in the mid/endgame).
Drown your enemies in a flood of Wolves and bring glory to your Jarl masters.
