The year is 298 AC when the newly crowned King Joffrey takes Ned’s Starks head. As a response, Robb Stark, Ned’s Starks son rises up in revolt. They are joined by the Riverlands, who themselves try to secede from the crown. In the South and East Renly- and Stannis Baratheon both crown themselves king of the Seven Kingdoms. Claiming that Joffrey is born from incest and is thus no true king. And on his own throne the Craken is waiting, seeking an opportune moment to strike..
Far beyond the wall, in the North, a sleeping giant awakes. The Free Folk are rallying behind Mance Rayder and they are preparing themselves to move South, even if that means taking over the Wall held by the Night’s Watch.
In the East Daenerys Targaryen marries Khal Drogo, who controls the largest Dothraki army the world has ever seen. She intends to take back her rightfull throne and destroy all who oppose her.
