HydeCo — Automatic Garage Doors

Remote‑controlled garage doors, keypad hacking, and a fully‑implemented chain‑driven gate automation system. Includes polished UI, reliable timed actions, and modern management tools.

Features
  • Remote‑controlled garage doors — Open/close/lock/unlock paired garage doors from range (supports multi‑tile garage groups).
  • Gate automation (chain‑drive) — Automate compatible gates using craftable/lootable chain‑drive components and controllers.
  • Chain Drive Crafting magazine — Find and read a magazine to unlock chain‑drive crafting.
  • Car battery powered — Chain drives use car batteries (any type). Each use drains a little charge and slightly reduces battery condition.
  • Bulls & Cows hacking mini‑game — Crack 4‑digit keypad codes with logic and deduction; attempts history, bulls/cows feedback, discovered digits, and lockout chance.
  • Improved vehicle radial — Select your remote/controller first, then operate it via a dedicated action wheel.
  • Keybinds + context menus — Full hotkey and right‑click support for operating devices and opening UIs.
  • Per‑item HUD — Compact/expanded HUD for devices (battery %, paired info, quick actions). Windows are movable and remember layout.
  • Garage Manager + Gate Manager — Rename, reorder (drag‑and‑drop + buttons), add nearby entries, and manage your setups cleanly.
  • Battery & salvage mechanics — Insert/remove batteries for handheld devices; battery % is shown on the item/HUD. Disassemble remotes into salvaged components.
  • Sandbox options — Fine‑tune range, pairing distance, keypad behavior, battery drain, manager availability, and more.

How to play (quick start)
  • Get a device — Find or craft a Garage Door Remote (and for gates, a Gate Controller / chain‑drive parts).
  • Power it — Insert a battery via inventory context menu. Battery charge is preserved and displayed.
  • Pair (near the target) — Stand near the garage door/gate → right‑click your device → Pair (you can also pair through the HUD/Manager).
  • Operate — Use keybinds, context menu, the HUD, or the vehicle radial to open/close and lock/unlock.
  • For gates (chain‑drive) — Read the Chain Drive Crafting magazine → craft/loot the chain‑drive setup → provide a car battery → pair the controller → operate through the same UI/keybind/radial systems.

Controls & keybinds
  • Bind keys in Options → Key Bindings → HydeCo Automatic Garage Doors.
  • Common actions: Toggle/Open/Close, Lock/Unlock, Toggle HUD, Open Garage Manager, Open Gate Manager.
  • Right‑click devices in inventory for: Open HUD, Open Manager, Pair/Unpair, Insert/Remove Battery, Rename.
  • Vehicle radial: one slice to pick a device, then a second wheel for actions.

Sandbox options
  • Remote Range — how far remotes can operate (tiles)
  • Pairing Max Distance — max distance to pair a door (tiles)
  • Group Search Radius — search radius for garage pieces when pairing/discovering
  • Battery Drain Toggle — battery cost per toggle
  • Battery Drain Wrong Code — battery drain for wrong keypad attempts
  • Allow Remote Through Locked — allow temporary unlock/relock when operating locked doors
  • Keypad Attempts Shown — cap how many attempts are shown in UIs
  • Keypad Hints — enable/disable bulls/cows + discovered digits
  • Garage Manager Enabled — enable/disable the Garage Manager UI
  • Hack Keypad Electricity Level — Electrical level required for hacking
  • Hack Keypad Hacking Level — Hacking level required (HackingSkill integration)
  • Keypad Lockout Base Attempts — attempts before lockout chance begins

Compatibility
  • Singleplayer supported.
  • Works with most building/vehicle mods; if another mod overrides garage doors/gates, adjust load order.
  • Generally safe to add to existing saves, but back up important worlds.
  • Optional integration: HackingSkill mod; professions/skills can affect keypad hacking.

Notes
  • I’ve put a lot of effort into stability and fixing edge cases; if you do hit issues, please post details in the comments (mod version + steps to reproduce helps a ton).

Roadmap
  • Multiplayer privacy/security — lock + hide your custom frequency so only authorized players can operate your doors/gates.
  • Custom icons and 3D models.
  • More remote/controller variants with different ranges/features.
