2026/1/24 Update

  • Stability Fix: Fixed a crash occurring when saving the game after adding new troop templates.
  • Cloud Library Optimization: Added "Sort by Date" and "Sort by Downloads" to the Cloud Troop List for easier browsing.
  • Download Prompt: Added a notification/warning when attempting to download duplicate troops from the Cloud to prevent accidental overwrites.

2026/1/6 Update

  • Bandit Party Generator: Any unit (including custom units) can now be spawned as a Bandit party.
  • Deep Customization: Supports modifying bandit party compositions (e.g., a mix of Cataphracts + Fian Champions + Line Breakers) with customizable unit counts.
  • Spawn Control: Specify which Hideout the bandits should spawn near. Added an MCM option to adjust spawn frequency.
  • Vanilla Optimization: Improved the editing process for native troops; modified vanilla troops can now be uploaded to the Cloud.

2025/12/8 Update (Game Version 1.3)

  • Full Tree Spawning: Entire troop trees can now be spawned as Bandit parties.
  • Spawn Interval: Added an MCM option to set the hourly interval for bandit generation.
  • New Role: Added the ability to set a soldier’s occupation to "Gang Member."

2025/12/2 Update

  • Global Recruitment: Recruitment logic changed from Culture-based to Global (recruit any configured troop anywhere).
  • New Skill: Added "Sprint" skill to increase soldier movement speed.
  • Fix: Resolved an issue where soldier appearance/face codes could not be modified.


Load Order Requirements
  • Troop Designer must be placed AFTER large overhauls and other troop mods. This also applies to any mods exported via this tool.
  • If using "Character Reload," place it AFTER Troop Designer; otherwise, facial modifications may not take effect.


Introduction

"Troop Designer" is a powerful visual troop tree creation tool. It allows you to edit native soldiers, create custom troops from scratch, or even produce standalone troop mods. Exported mods run independently without requiring Troop Designer as a dependency. Some UI code references "My Little Warband."

Mod Features

1. Custom Troop Creation
  • Create new troop trees or edit existing ones in the Town menu. Use "Shift + Left Click" on a troop icon to enter Editor Mode.
  • Customizable attributes include:
    • Skills, weapons, equipment, mounts, culture, gender, appearance, occupation, bonus HP, and more.
    • Level & Tier Logic: Level 1 = Tier 0, Level 6 = Tier 1, Level 11 = Tier 2 (and so on).
  • Add branching upgrade paths via the "Can Upgrade To" option (supports up to 4 branches).
  • Instantly modify names, appearances, and roles.

2. Troop Recruitment
  • Set recruitment rules based on Culture, Kingdom, Clan, or specific Heroes via the Town menu.
  • Configure exclusive units for specific kingdoms or lords to make enemy forces more challenging.
  • Use the configuration menu to allow players to recruit custom units or have them spawn in garrisons.

3. Vanilla Troop Modification
  • Edit the stats of original game troops using "Shift + Left Click."
  • Modified vanilla troops can be exported as standalone mods that do not require Troop Designer to run.

4. Mod Exporting
  • Export your troop trees or modified native soldiers as independent mods.
  • If using items from other mods, select those mods as dependencies during export.
  • Exported mods are standalone—perfect for players with zero coding knowledge to become mod authors!
